1530 EX f3.5-4.5

18125 DC f4-5.6

1850 DC f4-5.6

In this test, I evaluate the performance of the 1530, 1850 and 18125 at 18mm. I used a Nikon magnifier as an aide and shot with a sturdy tripod with heavy-duty ball head. The distance for the first series was 10 1/2 feet and very close to infinity from a focus standpoint. On the second series, it was about 50 feet. None of the images were sharpened. All images are crops at 100% On the wall test there is not much difference between the three. The second shot clearly favors the 1530. In viewing the tifs, the 18125 is noticeably better than the 1850 although it is difficult to see here. In addition, on part of the image seen, the 1850 suffers from CA while the other two show little if any.
