Summary

This low-end wide-angle kit lens performs very well at the shorter focal lengths and on subjects that are relatively "simple". On most of the tests using a newspaper on a painted wall, it does very well. With more distant objects, its shortcomings are more noticeable. It suffers from a substantial amount of CA. At the longer end, 50mm, it is very soft at f5.6. It does not resolve as well as the EX lenses where there is a lot of detail. Overall, it is well worth the price as it is very inexpensive and many people are getting good performance out of it.
